Specialty Service in Idaho Falls & Surrounding Areas
Pest Control Services, Inc. offers a comprehensive list of solutions for most, if not all, of your pest control needs. Whether the problem is inside or outside, weeds, rodents, spiders or insects we can provide answers to your questions. We can even take care of your landscape pond, large or small.
Listed below are some of the services we offer:
Non-Selective Grass and Weed Spray
These applications include round-up or pre-emergent for total vegetation control. Round-up is a contact herbicide that is a non-selective herbicide used to kill established weeds and grass. Roundup will not stop new plants from germinating. Normally we recommend monthly inspections and touch up applications to control the new weeds that germinate after our initial application.
Pre-emergent Weed Control
This application helps to control germination of weeds and grasses. Pre-emergent can be applied around established trees and shrubs. Pre-emergent must be applied prior to weed germination, usually in the fall or early spring.
Bare ground weed control is one of our most sought after services. Though not labeled for residential application, this service provides outstanding weed control for commercial and industrial sites, right of way, ag and many other non-residential sites.
Pasture Broadleaf Weed Control
Different than lawns, pastures are subject to much higher pressure from weeds. Normally pastures are watered from canals or ditches which carry thousands of weeds. With the addition of weed seeds blown around in the wind, it is no surprise that pastures require a good management program to maintain good control. Some herbicides we use will allow you to keep horses and livestock on the pasture after application. Some restrictions do apply. Listed here are a few of the most common weeds: dandelion, tansy, thistle, plantain and field bindweed.
Micro Tree Injection & Soil Drench
It is not uncommon during our yard and tree inspections to find evidence of bores, scale, canker, fire blight, or other diseases. Spray applications may be helpful but at times not as effective as direct injection or soil drench. Our Micro tree injection system allows us to inject directly into the tree and this has many added benefits. Injection with a systemic is very effective in controlling boring insects or diseases where translocation of product within the tree targets the pest more directly and effectively. With this application we have a wide range of products available to control insects and diseases. Soil drenching is another application method. Like our Micro tree injection, soil drench application also provides many specific benefits. Scale is a huge problem in southeast Idaho as well as aphids. Soil drenching trees infected with these pests is a very effective pest management tool. Listed here are a few of the trees we treat with Micro injection and/or soil drench. Most of our customers will have one or more of these trees in their yard. Ash, Maple, Birch, Aspen, Locust, Poplar. This is only a partial list.
Pest Control Options
Termite Inspection and Treatments
Pest Control Services, Inc. provides conventional and V.A/F.H.A. termite inspections for real estate transactions. Whether you are building a new home or commercial building or have an existing building, we provide termite inspection to full service termite treatment control options. Our service options include pre-slab applications and conventional sub slab injections. We also offer bait treatments where conventional treatments are not possible. Many people mistake termites for ants and misidentify the pest they are dealing with, or think that it is too cold in Idaho for termites. Proper identification is critical. So, if you suspect you may have termites and not ants, give us a call for a positive identification. Either way, we can provide a control solution. If it turns out that you have subterranean termites, we are a licensed Termidor product user. Termidor leads the industry in subterranean termite control and most treatments carry a 5-year warranty on the treated area.
Inside Spraying and Fogging
Once pests are identified, insect or spider, we offer solutions to your pest problems. Most of our sprays are odorless and will not stain carpets or drapery. A few of the insects we treat are spiders, ants, bed bugs, roaches, weevils, fleas, and carpet beetles.
Bed bugs have largely been thought of as being a problem of the past. Unfortunately, we are now experiencing a widespread recurrence of bed bugs in the United States and abroad. The most significant factor that explains their return is the increase in international travel. Bed bugs easily get into clothing or luggage and are brought home. While many bed bugs hide in mattresses, some may also hide in a sofa or chair, or behind wall fixtures or pictures. Bed Bugs are not a “do-it-yourself” pest. You will need a professional to perform a detailed treatment to eliminate a bed bug infestation. Every corner and crevice needs to be searched. As you might guess, this means that simply getting rid of an infected mattress will not completely solve the problem. Our technicians have the training and knowledge to control your bed bug problems.
Once there is a cockroach infestation, it can be very hard to get rid of them. Cockroaches multiply and adapt very quickly. It is important to contact us as quickly as possible if you see them in your home or business. The German cockroach is the cockroach typically found in southeast Idaho; however other roaches have been seen. Not unlike bed bugs, cockroaches require detailed treatments to control the infestation. Pest Control Services, Inc. has over 40 years helping our customers get fast and effective control.
Bees, Wasps, Hornets
The presence of stinging insects including bees and wasps can not only can disrupt home life but can also be life threatening, particularly when a person with an allergy is stung. When dealing with bees or wasps, they can be very aggressive and can swarm in groups and sting multiple times. This can be life threatening to anyone attempting to interfere with the nest. We highly recommend that you always put safety first and leave any stinging insect treatment or nest removal to a pest professional. Proper identification between bees and wasps is crucial. When dealing with a beehive we always try to relocate the bees, when possible.
Pond Algae and Weed Control
Algae control in ponds is a very important part of maintaining a healthy pond.
Algae forms in a pond when sunlight reacts with nutrients in the water. These nutrients are comprised of primarily ammonia and nitrate which you may recognize as the ingredients in fertilizer. These nutrients result from the breakdown of debris such as leaves, grass, and other windblown organic matter. As these items decompose, the nutrients become the food for algae in many forms including Filamentous Algae that covers rocks and clings to the surface of your pond. As your pond matures, the more likely you will have to deal with aquatic pond weeds. Some weeds are submerged weeds, such as naiad or American pond weed, to emergent weeds, such as cattails. Pest Control Services, Inc. has the right treatment plan to keep your pond algae-free and weed-free. If you want to bring your pond back to being a striking piece of your landscape, call Pest Control Services, Inc.
